Hearing people navigate with their eyes and hear with their ears. The deaf community cannot do that. How can design create an opportunity for increased spatial awareness, allowing them to be at ease and giving them a sense of respite from their struggles in navigating the world?
Creating a responsive environment that reacts to people moving through the space allows for this increased level of spatial awareness. The subtle movement of the translucent members provides visual cues about people around you and approaching you as you move through the nodes. The static form of the procession transforms into a fluid space while being experienced.
